The Islands Planning Commission recommended approval of ZM-26-18 on September 15 (5–2) and deferred the development plan, DP-26-1. The Board of Commissioners vote originally set for October 1 has been postponed, and a new date has not been announced. We will post it here when the county confirms it. Check the county calendar for the latest.

Take action

Three ways to take part

The vote has been postponed, which gives residents more time to learn the facts and be heard. Any of these helps.

1 · LEARN

Know the facts

Start with the case summary, then see how close the site is to your home and what the traffic study does and does not cover.

2 · COMMENT

Tell the commissioners

Write to the Glynn County Board of Commissioners before the vote. Be specific and polite, and name the case: ZM-26-18 / DP-26-1, 5445 and 5447 Frederica Rd. Contact details for each commissioner are on the county's page.

3 · ATTEND

Show up

Decisions are made in public meetings, and residents are allowed to speak.

Our purpose

About Team SSI

Team SSI is an informal, open group of St. Simons Island residents and property owners.

Our focus today is zoning, land use, development, and the infrastructure tied to recent zoning applications. We share factual information, encourage broad community involvement, and work for respectful, constructive dialogue among residents, property owners, county officials, and other interested parties.

Team SSI has no affiliation with any developer or any specific individual. It is a volunteer community effort, open to everyone who wants to learn, participate, and contribute.
